We apologize for the late notice but we just found out. If you do go, be sure to mention that you go to Southgate and they will try to seat us together. You can bring your report card if you have it or they will accept a progress report or conference appointment information.

Internet Safety Night

Is your child using the Internet? Are you worried about keeping him or her safe? Bring your family and join us for an informational evening on Thursday, November 12 from 6:30 pm at Southgate Elementary as we discuss ways to talk with your child about making smart decisions online. You and your child will learn about:

· Establishing rules for Internet use at home.

· Teaching your child to never reveal identifying information.

· What to do if your child views disturbing content.

You’ll also hear about social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace, virtual worlds like Club Penguin, instant messaging, and online gaming. We’ll discuss what to watch out for, including cyber-bullying, inappropriate content, and online predators. The Internet is a valuable resource and a permanent presence in our lives so it’s vital to prepare yourself and your child for the day he or she goes online without your supervision. Join us Thursday, November 12th at 6:30 pm to start the process.
