Read Across America Month begins March 1st!

Below is a list of activities and events planned for this month.

March 1st

Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration

Students who purchased Dr. Seuss hats may wear their hat to school on this day. We will start our morning with an Oobleck Snack, guest readers and FUN Seuss-related activities.

March 1st-31st

March is our "Month of Reading Madness"

Grad a book and READ with the CAT! Beginning March 1st accept the READING CHALLENGE to increase your monthly reading minutes. All school reading minutes will be tracked in the cafeteria. GO DRAGONS! Let's increase our monthly totals!

 

March 1st-17th

Read-a-thon towards Silverwood

Students will track their reading minutes each day while they read their way across America. The more minutes they read the farther they will go! Each student is encouraged to read 600 minutes to earn a free Silverwood ticket.

March 18th

Silverwood Reading Log DUE

Please be sure to bring your reading log on or before March 18th and don't forget the PARENT'S SIGNATURE.

March 19th, 6 pm

Free Family Night

Dress up as your favorite Seuss character, bring a gently used book in exchange for another book.

 

March 29th

Super Spirit Friday-Favorite Book Character Day

Students should bring their favorite children's book to school and come dressed as their favorite character. We will end the day with a school-wide serpentine and Stop, Drop and Read. What a great way to finish off a fun and busy month of reading!
